After a wonderful dinner, we expected something simple for the breakfast. For the 2 breakfasts we had in the pension, they were simple, yet prepared with heart. Muraoka San was just amazing!!!
The bread, onion soup, coffee & tea were self served. The herb rolls were made with the ingredients I saw Muraoka San preparing the night before. The other bread had a cheese topping. I believed he used the same for croutons in the onion soup.
Onion soup for breakfast was something new to me. Although it is a simple soup to made, if you need to do it properly, you do need the patience to fry the onion and a good stock. Muraoka San's onion soup was very good.
Jayson refused to drink his own milk. He wanted the fresh milk in Hokkaido. It is not difficult to understand why.
This was his portion for breakfast. He didn't manage to finish it. He ate some eggs. We rarely gave him orange or grapefruit and he suddenly didn't like kiwi. Maybe he ate too much when he was a baby.
Only his godfather managed to make him eat some.
The thing he could not finish, I of course ate them all. Fresh fruit and a rich scramble egg, what can you ask more for a breakfast? And with such a delightful presentation, it really gave us a good start for a beautiful day.
Oh... Maybe I could ask for a rich blueberry yogurt. Yummy!
As we look around the dining room, we see the certificates of Muraoka San, and, I believe, his son. I don't know what it takes to get a cook license in Japan. We don't have anything like that in Hong Kong. But with those certificates hanged on the wall, I could sense the pride of the cooks working in that kitchen.
It was really like a blessing that we could have such a wonderful breakfast in the morning.

我最憎飲奶,但係日本嘅牛奶, 特別係北海道果d, 卻令我會主動喺飲品櫃度揀牛奶黎飲!
